What is the usual size of the Titan Coloplast penile implant for ED (erectile dysfunction)

Dr. Reed, What is the usual size of the Titan Coloplast penile implant for ED (erectile dysfunction)? Jerry

Dear Jerry,

The Titan comes in varying sizes related mainly to the length.  While it is a non-expansile implant (Bioflex) unlike the Boston Scientific AMS 700 LGX (stands for length and girth expansion), for any given comparable length the Titan has a larger circumference.  Regular-sized prostheses were inflated to 22 ml and narrow prostheses to 16 ml. Coloplast Titan Touch showed a girth of 17.8 mm at 22 ml compared to 15.6 mm for AMS 700 LGX

Mention erectile dysfunction (ED) in a room full of guys you’ve known for decades and you’re likely to be met with dead silence. Even though 1 out of every 2 men over the age of 40 suffers from ED,no guy ever wants to talk about it.

Prescription pills are usually the first course of action for treating erectile dysfunction, but often they aren’t an instant fix. When pills aren’t an option, a penile implant can offer real hope. A penile implant (or penile prosthesis) is a medical device that is custom-fit and surgically placed into a penis to produce a natural-looking and natural-feeling erection. Please understand there are techniques such as pre-operative use of penile traction that can increase your erect implant length.  The experience of the surgeon inserting the implant is certainly an important factor.
