Concealed or Hidden Penis
Concealed penis, hidden penis, or buried penis are similar terms to describe a penis whose erectile bodies may be of normal length but essentially lie under the body surface line and for that reason seems sunken. This may be seen with as a result of an overzealous circumcision (removing an excessive amount of foreskin and shaft skin), but in my practice is very commonly associated with obesity which results in an overhanging pubis and sagging of pubic skin like an apron over the penis. Not infrequently these patients have had a prior circumcision.
If the patient can by pulling on the glans (head) stretch out the penis and simultaneously lift the pubis, one can have a glimpse of some idea of what can accomplished with surgery. This is seen especially when the septae below the skin are exceedingly loose and allow the skin to slip forward. The remedy is to remove pubic fat, often a crescent of skin, and reattach the penile skin at the base to the tunics of the erectile tissue.
