Non scalpel vasectomy

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

April 2, 2010

Good afternoon Shannon,

Perhaps you mean a “no scalpel vasectomy”.  Yes, we can do that.  Please consider that a “non-scalpel” vasectomy is a promotional term, in that local anesthesia is applied with a small needle and is used to wet and soften the skin as well.  Then a pointed scissors with a spreading technique is used to “poke a hole” or tear the tissue down to the vas.  So, something sharp is used after all.

Our fee is 250 for consultation 500 for the procedure.

Sincerely,

Good morning Shannon,
Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Don’t rightly understand your
question about needles.  Even sutures have needles on the
end.  We can numb the skin so you don’t feel them.
We have performed over 5500 cosmetic circumcisions in the past 35 years
and usually do several cases every week.
We do ask that you stay for one, ideally 2 days at the Baltic
Hotel (advanced tourist class) and I will see you there daily.
You could return to an office environment 3 days after circumcision.
Our 2 layered wrap of soft conforming gauze and Coban will provide comfort
and reduce swelling.
We have done sons of physicians, medical students and residents, brothers,
religious circumcisions, men who have not seen the heads of their penis for 20 years,
and next week a father and 3 sons!
This is your circumcision and we do it the way you want with respect
to 4 parameters.
Please don’t be like the patient who writes: “Dr. Reed I just got circumcised
two days ago and my result was not what i expected.   I was wondering
when i recover can i get a consultation with you.”   Photos sent
and received (unspoken comment “disaster zone”)
Be assured we will show you every courtesy,
With kindest regards,
Harold M. Reed, M.D.

After vasectomy, wife takes fertility drugs to get pregnant

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Dr. Reed,

Will my vasectomy remain as effective if my wife is taking fertility enhancing meds?    She does not know about my procedure. And I DO NOT want her to get pregnant.

Chason

Hi Chason,

This question is a little sad because it suggests there may be some marital discord at least along these lines, and deception is anti-love in my opinion.

If you have a vasectomy, and most modern day urologists would ask for your wife’s consent for medical legal reasons, and your semen is checked at intervals, and contains no sperm, the progeny won’t be yours.

Yes, that has come up.

Sincerely,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.
