Retractile penis (first I see it and then I don’t)

October 22, 2011

Dear Dr. Reed,

Hi – I’m pretty fit guy, but I suffer from retractible penis and testicles. I wanted to know about your penis tacking procedure to prevent the penis from retracting. It happens mostly when i go for a run. What are the risks with this procedure? Could it cause more retraction if it doesn’t go well? How often do you perform on skinny adults with it. I know mostly children and overweight adults have this problem but what about thin adults? Also, is there a way to lengthen cremaster/spermatic cord?   Jeffrey

Good morning Jeffrey,

Thank you for your interest in what we do and visiting our web-site
http://www.penisdoctor.com   Shrinkage of the pen.s during
exercise is normal for a few physiological reasons such as
enhanced adrenalin flow and diversion of blood the your voluptuary muscles.
.
You have many options.  Yes, we have skeletonized the cords to allow
the testes to hang lower.

Had autologous fat transfer to penis with some loss, now seeks AlloDerm

Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

April 1, 2011

I’ve had the girth enhancement fat transfer done in the 90′s. I would just like a “touch up” to even out after weight loss. Can you help me with this? If so, what would the cost be?

Thanks
 Richard

Good afternoon Richard,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Yes, can be
done assuming some essential conditions such as available fat stores
and laxity of penile skin.  Our fee: 4000.

Peyronies has produced significant shortening and ED

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

March 23, 2011

I have been diagnosed with Peyronies. I have ocassional ED. Due to the Peyronies, I have significant shortening and I’m interested in the implant procedure and possible lengthing if possible. email or phone is acceptable means of contact.

Raymond

Good morning Raymond,

Thanks for visiting our web site on Peyronies’s disease and penile curvature http://www.penisdoctor.com/peyronies.htmPerhaps you can relate to the before and after posted in the gallery.

The best results for Peyronies’s without question come when there is simultaneous implant of an inflatable prosthesis, which should not be done if there is sufficient wherewithall to penetrate.

We are seeing several Peyronie’s patients every month.  One memorable patient from Ohio was done with a length gain of 1 1/4″ immediately on the table.  When the patient arrived in the recovery room and said to me, “how did I do,” I drew the curtains around his bed and pulled back his sheets and blanket and said, “look.”  An approving smile came across his face.

With post operative use of a vacuum erection device, he’ll even do better than that over the course of the next 6 months.

Correcting penile curvature is one of the mainstays of our practice and the enjoyment we derive is making two people happy.  We see patients from all over the world who seek remedy because of functional or cosmetic disabilities.

My knowledge is updated yearly by attending the AUA meetings.  At any lecture dealing with Peyronie’s you’ll find me sitting very attentively in the audience.

While our surgical success rate is better than 95%, we do recommend a trial of conservative therapy for at least 6 months as this may often produce a sufficient enough resolution to make you a happy man.  But have you had this without success?

When your travel plans include the Miami – Ft. Lauderdale area please avail yourself of a proper urological consultation.

Or call our office to verify insurance coverage.  Anne is very knowledgeable.  We can even make a conference call with your company to verify your benefits.

If you are over 40 and are on medications other than hormones, please call the office before scheduling surgery,  as a letter of medical clearance will most likely be needed.

If you are a smoker, you must stop completely for 2 months before surgery and please never again.  Smoking causes vaso-spasm, impairs wound healing, produces excessive scarring, tissue necrosis,
irritates and inflames pulmonary membranes and enhances anesthetic risk.

This goes also for any products containing nicotine or nicotine like agents including nicorette gum, nicotine patches, Nicotrol inhalers, and second hand smoke.  Again not for 8 weeks before and not for 8 weeks afterwards.
Hopefully never again.

No aspirin or aspirin products, blood thinners such as Plavix, Coumadin, no anti-inflammatory drugs such as Motrin, Advil, Alleve, or Cox 2 inhibitors such as Celebrex or Vioxx for a week before surgery.  No Vitamin E or excessive alcohol or spices for a week before surgery as this may promote bruising.  Bruising can be reduced (many believe) with Bromelain 500 mg 1 twice a day, Arnica montana dose 30C (take 4 small tablets sublingually, 4 times a day), vitamin C 500 mg (3 times a day) starting 1 week before surgery.

Had fat enhancement phalloplasty in 1997, now all gone, what to do

Monday, November 8th, 2010

Hello. I had enhancement phalloplasty in 1997 and had a good result, but over the years the fat has all dissolved away, leaving me with my pre-surgery girth. I am interested in having another procedure to increase my penile girth. Length is not so much of a problem for me. I have read about alloderm. I have also read about procedures where the corpus cavernosum is actually incised to help increase girth. I had fat transfer during my initial surgery. I am not opposed to doing it again, but the only concern I have is that after the surgery my penis was so large it made it difficult for me to wear normal clothing. I would be most interested in a procedure that would allow my penis to be very large when erect, and a more normal size when flaccid, if such a procedure exists. I am also interested to learn about the costs. Thanks.

Calvin

November 8, 2010

Good morning Calvin,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.

We have been aware of autologous fat transfer since the early 90′s and our experience has been similar to yours, plus the occasional formation of fibro-fatty nodules. Patients from other doctors have reported
the same.

I think AlloDerm, after 10 years of use, is perhaps the best option for girth enhancement. The results are enduring. We are aware of procedures to incise the tunica albuginea, the covering or casing of the corpus cavernosa to enlarge the penis, and many have met with complications especially erectile impairment. My recommendation is to stay away from this procedure. Sometimes things that look good on the drawing table don’t pan out.

Any procedure that enhances erect girth will correspondingly increase your flaccid girth.  Good news for most men.

With kindest regards,

Three physicians in 2 days, one after the other

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

While patients allied with the medical field comprise about 10% of my practice and we do see physicians on occasion, certainly unusual to see three consecutively, one after the other.  The first a pathologist from Australia for penile lengthening.  The next an orthopod from southwest Florida for girth enhancement, and the last anti-aging specialist from Michigan (“me and my wife just love sex”) for revision of phalloplasty done elsewhere.

What a honor.

was 8, now 5 adds up to unhappy camper, status post Peyronie’s and implant surgery

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

I received the 2 piece inflatable penis implant after suffering from priapism.

My penis size before was 8″ in length and after surgery is only 5″.

My esteem has been devastated and I am enquiring to see if I could possibly return to my original size (or bigger)

I have being doing some research and reduced length is not uncommon, but 3″ is an unacceptable reduction in size.

The surgery that I have seen offered that looks most appealing to me is the

Penile Triple AugmentationT surgery.

It consists of Penile Lengthening Surgery, Penile Widening Surgery and Penile Glanular Enhancement Surgery (penile head enlargement) all being performed at the same time.

The Penile Widening procedures that I think I need is the Penile Dermal Fat Grafts (DFG) or Dermal Widening Grafts or Allograft Dermal Matrix AlloDerm (R).

Please let me know if there is any new implants or surgery methods (fat implant, cutting internal to allow extra length)

Ideally I would like to get to my original 8″ in length and a large increase in thickness.

I understand the best 3 piece implant is the AMS 700 LGX.  What is the maximum implant length available?

Would this be possible and approximately what are the costs?

I would appreciate feedback on this as I want to feel good about myself again and regain my man-hood.

Yours hopefully,

Damien

October 17, 2010

Good morning Damien (today is Sunday),

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  If your stretched
penile length was or close to 8 inches immediately before surgery,
this is a big “wrongo-mundo.”  I could only begin to explain this by
saying, the proper size implants were either not on the back table or in the
operating room at the time of surgery.  Even if you had lost length secondary to Peyronies
or fibrosing cavernositis, when implants are installed this is the perfect time to recoup.

After reading the attached, if you believe I am the doctor

Combining length and girth, primrose path to disaster

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Which procedure do you recommend for girth enhancement? Which one feels the most like pre op flesh?  Would girth enhancement alone prevent the penis from shrinking and do you gain any length from the girth procedure?  Do you use any implants in the lengthening procedure to prevent retraction?

Can any type of girth procedure be done together with lengthening?
Would I be able to drive home 3 days after the procedure (10 hr drive)?   Calvin

September 12, 2010

Good morning Calvin,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.

Either AlloDerm or BellaDerm would be acceptable and in our hands produce similar results.  No sir, do no combine length and girth enhancement as the results for length are lackluster at best and often disastrous.  We have patients coming to our office every month who have had “get-there-itis” and rue the day.   You cannot drive home or go to the mall after the procedure.  Right to bed at a nearby motel and bed rest for 4 days.  Yes, sir.

You want a beautiful result or do you want your penis to have more wrinkles than a stewed prune?

Girth enhancement will not prevent the penis from flaccid contracture as the material is soft (like a wet chamois).

We tried implants for length about 12 years or so ago, and desisted because of the overly high incidence of extrusion of the silicone strips.  We have also heard repeatedly that other physician(s) who employ this technique are (in the here and now) having patients with similar experiences.

Not all that glitters is gold.

Have a restful Sunday,

Interested in BellaDerm

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Hello there,
I am interested in the belloderm procedure. My measurements are 6 x 4.5 what sort of gains would I expect. do the grafts reabsorbe over time. I live in Australia, how would I have to stay in USA for recovery. And how long is recommended to have off work, I work in construction.

Thank you,  Harnon

September 12, 2010

Good morning Harnon,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.

The grafts may, (may) reabsorb by about 10% but this is more than offset by replacement with cells of your own making. Please expect some added girth from the bruise effect which will subside, but afterwards the wind up is you should have a noticeable difference in girth.

Please avoid any possibility for genital trauma or straddle injury for a good 6 to 7 weeks. Yes, if caution is exercised you could return to work earlier, perhaps 2 weeks after surgery.

Phalloplasty, weights and traction

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

Hello Doctor I was wondering if you could help me with this question.  After penis lengthening surgery when weights are required for 8 hours a day, how is this done?  Does that mean that the patient would stand with weights on his penis for 8 hours daily?

Thanks

Bernie

July 31, 2010

Good afternoon Bernie,

When we think of weights, more generally we are speaking of  traction which should be started a day after surgery simply with manual extension for 2 minutes (with you lying down) up towards the ceiling for two minutes and down (towards your feet) for two minutes, a least 8 times a day.  Give your penis a chance to accommodate.  You will notice towards the end of the two minute interval your penis is longer.  Also immediately following surgery, your penis has been wrapped, extended outwards, like in a cervical collar.  This helps too.

After 5 days the wrap is removed and slowly you will progress into serious traction graduating up to 8 pounds if your doctor feels your diameter is capable of that much tension without injury.

I could talk for many minutes about how traction should be and not be applied.

You can accomplish a good deal of the minimum 8 hours a day needed while on bed rest.

Sorry the information is vague, because without knowing you, or having a doctor-patient relationship with you, I cannot go into specifics, but I am available for consultation over the phone if you wish.

Our fee is 250 and this is a one time charge, thus there is no charge for your first visit at the office, excluding any lab work which may be needed.

Sincerely,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

generosity of donors and their families, MTF tissue is used to enhance

the lives of patients in many ways – to help patients walk again, or

recover from debilitating and painful spinal conditions, or to salvage

limbs that might have been amputated due to cancers, to repair

complex traumatic abdominal wall injuries, reconstruct facial defects

such as cleft palate, or in breast reconstruction following mastectomy

– to name just a few.
