Phalloplasty, need to separate ? and discount for a gent from the UK

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

April 28, 2012

Hi Dr Reed if I want both procedures, the lengthening and widening do you still charge the same as I have to travel from UK to USA twice as you recommend the procedure to be separated.

And so would you consider a slight discount to take into account my travel.

Adan,

Good afternoon Adan,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Yes, the procedures should be separated.  Do not have girth until you are happy with your length result.  Then I will place in an appropriately longer graft.

Your discount comes in when your return for lengthening and we can take 10% off.

After reading the attached, if you believe I am the doctor for you, please initiate a consultation over the phone with our office by sending us your name, address, and telephone number in an envelope along with a check for 300.  We’ll get started ASAP.  We’ll have a lot to talk about.

Diabetic wants circumcision and phalloplasty

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

April 15, 2012
Dear Dr. Reed,
I’m diabetic hispano and i want to have the circumcision and if in the treatment. Can i have an enlargement. Thx
Eduardo

April 15, 2012
Good morning Eduardo,
Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Your p.nis is one of the most important functional and cosmetic features of your body.  A diabetic in good control no problem.  What has been your glycosolated  hemoglobin A1C?
We have performed over 6500 cosmetic circumcisions and revisions in the past 35 years and usually do several cases every week.

We have done sons of physicians, brothers, religious circumcisions, men who have not seen the heads of their penis for 20 years! This is your circumcision and we do it the way you want with respect
to 4 parameters.

Please don’t be like the patient who writes: “Dr. Reed I just got circumcised (elsewhere) two days ago, and my result was not what i expected. I was  wondering when i recover can i get a consultation with you.”   Photos sent and received.  Unspoken comment: “disaster zone.”

Be assured we will show you every courtesy,

All the best and have a blessed Sunday,

Can penile lengthening and circumcision be performed together

Sunday, April 8th, 2012

April 6, 2012
My name is Flavio.
My question is that I read I can do lengthening and circumcision on the same day is this information correct? Because I am interested in those two procedures.

Good morning Flavio,

Please review the attached.  We cannot perform circumcision and penile lengthening simultaneously as you need to apply traction within
a few days after penile lengthening.  A lengthening result is 65% you  (with traction) and 35% me (partial release of the suspensory ligament).  If you apply traction too early, you’ll open your circumcision incision.

You may wish to make an appointment at the office for consultation as there is a lot of information we need to put out to you and surely many questions and concerns you will have.

Have a restful Good Friday and Easter weekend,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

questions about phalloplasty from a man of no small dimension

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

March 30, 2012

Dear doctor,

I was reading your website with interest but I’m a little confused about some things:

1) my penis is almost 7 inches when erect but was considering the lengthening procedure to possibly get another inch. will this be realistic?
2) when erect, my penis is a straight line and if I am standing, it will be 90 degrees to my body. I have heard that the lengthening procedure affects the anchoring and the penis will be weaker and point down a little lower. Is this true?
3) there seems to be several thickening procedures (alloderm, belladerm, dermal-fat grafts ) What are the differences between them in terms of longevity, maintaining sensation and evenness. I have heard about fat injection. is this another procedure? Is the girth negated when the penis is erect or does it add to the erect penis?
4) is it right that the girth procedure is more pleasurable to a woman than the lengthening?
5) is it possible to get post op patent testimonials, references or discussion forum?

Many thanks

Adail

March 31, 2012

Good morning Adail,

I would not recommend you have a lengthening procedure done as your stats are already well above normal.  You can rest on your laurels.

Our preference is for AlloDerm.  Once you become an established patient we can go into detail.

Cannot respond to what is most pleasurable to a woman, but can tell you a recent article shows women have deep receptors and length will provide pleasure in that area.

Girth and clitoral stimulation has always been acknowledged as part of the female orgasmic process.

You are welcome to post a question on our blog and see who replies.

HIPAA laws prevent me from revealing our patients’ contact information.

Sincerely,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

Questions about phalloplasty techniques

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

March 31, 2012

Dear Dr. Reed,

I understand that the suspensory ligament is detached from the pelvic bone to help pull the portion of the penis out. Once that is done, do you reattach the suspense ligament? There’s a urologist that reattaches it, just wanted to be sure you do the same.

Secondly, after doing the lengthening and the girth with alloderm or Belladerm, how will it reflect recover/post op exercises for lengthening?

Thirdly, how is sensitivity of the penile shaft after the girth process and can any strange displacement occur if the penis were to be grabbed and squeezed?

Thank you for your time and I look foward to the possibility of scheduling the procedure soon.

Bradley

March 31, 2012

Good morning  Bradley,

Once you become an established patient by sending in your consultation fee there is a lot more information I can provide about others.

Q.  I understand that the suspensory ligament is detached from the pelvic bone to help pull a portion of the penis out. Once that is done, do you reattach the suspense ligament? There’s a urologist that reattaches it,  just wanted to be sure you do the same.

A.  I do not know of any doctor who completely detaches the suspensory ligament from the pubic bone lest you have a free floating penis, and with great risks to your neuro-vascular bundle as well.

Once at a certain depth of release is accomplished, just that portion which retains the penis in an arched position under the central pubic area, further release will provide no more added length, and will promote penile instability.  We do not reattach nor put in artificial spacers.  We do bring the loose fibroareolar tissue from side to side to find in that space so your penis will not reattach, which would accomplish absolutely nothing.

Think this way, although the cardboard on the back of a canary yellow pad is not glued fully to the sheet above.  If you lifted the sheet from the back without tearing it off, would the sheet be any longer.

Q.  Secondly, after doing the lengthening and the girth with AlloDerm or BellaDerm, how will it reflect recover/post op exercises for lengthening?

A.  We do not perform girth and lengthening together.  Only have girth once you are happy with your length result.  Once you are, even if you are not opting for girth enhancement there is no maintenance required as the length gain is predicated upon new cell growth.

Q. Thirdly, how is sensitivity of the penile shaft after the girth process and can any strange displacement occur if the penis were to be grabbed and squeezed?

A. While this is a theoretical concern, in our experience this has never happened in over 2000  cases.
This is an operation above the penis, not on the penis.

Sincerely,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

Considering AlloDerm for penile girth enhancement

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

February 25, 2012

Dear Dr. Reed,

my names manny and im looking to get an alloderm/belloderm girth enhancement along with a glans enhancement.  im a contractor that works overseas and the next time i’ll be back in the United States is April, and i’d like to get the surgery done then.  my penis is about 7 inches when erect so i dont know whether or not that constitutes me purchasing another strip of alloderm/belloderm.  what would the total cost be of a girth and glans enhancement?(i can pay in full, no bank loans or anything)  what kind of a recovery time am i looking at?(whens the earliest i can go back to work?  whens the earliest i can have sex afterward?)  the initial face to face consultation would probably have to be the same week as the surgery becaause im only gonna be in florida about 2 weeks.  will that be a problem?

February 25, 2012

Good morning Manny,

Thank you for your interest in what we do

Yes, a man of your dimension will require extra AlloDerm. (actually it will be one continuous but larger strip).

For glans enhancement, there are 2 ways this can be done.  First is with AlloDerm, but in that we would insert the strip over the neurovascular bundle for the shaft and under the neurovascular bundle for the glans, this could provide an undesirable compression during early wound healing when there is a transient swelling.

Other glans alternative is to use a filler called Juvederm Ultraplus. However, there will be a need for a touch up in 6 months as this is known to reabsorb.

Or we can do just the shaft.

If you op for a simultaneous procedure the combined fee would be discounted… Whereas 9200 plus 3950 equals 13,150, your fee would be 1250.

Please advise on your thoughts and have safe a restful weekend.  “Play it cool in the company pool”,

Diagnosed with Peyronies, considering implant and pubic liposuction

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

February 24, 2012

I have been diagnosed with Peyronies decease and have been suggested to get an implant. My wife also heard about the removal of belly fat to assist in the increase in size of the penis can you please tell me anything about this. Also do you know of a doctor in Orlando or Tamps that could help me with this situation?  Maynard

Good morning Maynard,

Not all Peyronie’s patients need an implant and if an implant is indicated, Peyronie’s curvature may be corrected by the presence of the implant alone  (without further surgery).

Regretfully we do not maintain a directory of a handful of surgeons who are exceedingly skillful in Peyronies.

Yes, we do pubic liposuction and dermatolipectomy and lifting to expose more penis.  If the pubic surgery  is extensive, better not to combine implant and pubic surgery as there will be appreciable transient genital swelling post surgery which may not be an optimal environment for implant healing.

Best wishes,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

Are fees combined?

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

February 11, 2012

On your website I see:

fee for lengthening $4500
fee for girth enhancement $7950

My question: is the girth fee standalone or does it include lengthening?

Thank you,

Ferris Fairchild

Good morning Ferris,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Fees are not combined as these are independent events.  For girth enhancement, the fee may be higher, depending upon your length.  Please see our web-site.   However if you are able to commit to future surgeries with a deposit we will be happy to apply a discount on these subsequent procedures.  That we can do.

Length and girth should not be performed together as this is a blueprint for disaster or a poor length result at best.

My wife and I are looking some some true answers about penile length surgery

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

January 15, 2012

Dear Dr. Reed

I’m wondering the costs of penile widening as my wife wants to put this in the budget if affordable. Is there financing if we can’t just payfor it? Also, Is the surgury permanant? Any side effects? Who should think about getting lenthened? What length do woman prefer? My wife won’t give me an honest answer.

Jason

January 15, 2012

Good morning Jason,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Dr. Whitehead is retiring and referred your inquiry to our office.  My phalloplasty experience dates back to1986 and includes several thousand procedures.

Surprising a new article recently published in Journal of Sexual Medicine does show that many woman prefer longer length, although it had been commonly believed the erogenous receptors were in the vulva, clitoral area and proximal third of the vagina, not the deep portion.

The risks in penile lengthening are very minimal (see our informed consent posted on our web-site), or else we won’t be doing this since 1986.  Any length you derive both from suregry and the use of traction (traction being moe important) is permanent unless obscured by a massive weight gain.  Medi-credit companies are out there.  In that this is elective sugery, save on your own and avoid the vigorish.

Please review our website http://www.penisdoctor.com/ for the answers to many commonly asked questions.  Our fees are also published there.

After reading the attached, if you believe I am the doctor for you, please initiate a consultation over the phone with our office by sending us your name, address, and telephone number in an envelope along with a check for 250.  We’ll get started ASAP.  We’ll have a lot to talk about.

4X labs and other simial extender products and then The Grip

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

January 12, 2012

Hello Dr Reed, I have been interested in gaining more length for some time I feel pretty good about my girth but my concern is will the lengthing cause me to lose any of my current girth? And would I gain any benefits of using X4 Labs penis extender post op? Thank You  Henry

January 12, 2012

Good morning Henry,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Have no personal experience with 4X labs, but is similar to fastsize, jesextender, and andropenis to name a few.   They don’t conceal well, but most important is that you use them properly.  The Grip has the advantage of being a multi-component system with many options for concealment and also other adaptations that require heavy weights.  I have no financial interest in any penile paraphernalia company or traction device.  I just take stock of my patients’ experiences (several thousand).
