“Yellow goo” after adult circumcision
Hi Dr. Reed,
Just wanted to let you know I made it back to MD this afternoon…there was some minor patches of blood from all the walking, no real pain, just discomfort. I put ointment on it and got the sudafed, is that suppose to stop the night erections?
I know you said not to remove the wrap for 7 days, but the underside of the head has a yellowish goo (maybe from the ointment? it looks gross) and bloodstains, can I wipe that off or should I just leave everything how it is until day 7? It’s not risking infection right? Peter

Good evening Peter,
Yes the Sudafed, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg, take 2 every 6 hours as needed especially before sleep to suppress painful erections. If you are no longer having painful erections, please do not take Sudafed.
We surely enjoyed having you here.
Best wishes,
Harold

Good morning Peter,
Thank you for the update.
My bias is to leave it alone, or place some hydrogen peroxide on a wash cloth which you wrap loosely around for stained area for a few minutes and then remove and let drip dry. Do not rub please as this skin is very fragile. Do not overuse hydrogen peroxide as it destroys new cell growth.
What you are describing is a normal situation. Probably a mixture of serum and coagulum.
Have a blessed Sunday,
Harold
