Penoscrotal Web detracting from length and enjoyment

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

My Family is in your area and I’m researching doing Penoscrotal Web Release surgery. I was referred to your offices. I’ve a large “turkey neck web”. My concern is that my penis flaccid is quite small but becomes extremely large when erect. I want the surgery purely for cosmetic reasons. I would like to know how having the surgery doesn’t effect future sexual performance. Is it possible to get more details to read about the surgery before scheduling a consultation.

Thank you,
Jason

Good morning Jason,

Thank you for your interest in peno scrotal web release, a procedure which I have been doing frequently for a good 25 years.

Please review our web-site http://penisdoctor.com/penoscrotal_web.htm

There is no question that if your erectile bodies extend well beyond the body surface line, having them wrapped solely with skin as opposed to a draping scrotum underneath will from many views provide the semblance of longer length, actually the true length of your penis.  When the penis is erect it tends to be elevated and when you are vertical the underside of your penis is what your partner sees.  This should be a turn-on.

Sexually the advantage is you will not be dragging your scrotum into the vagina during penetration.

Will be leaving this Friday for the annual meeting of the American Urological Association, this year in San Francisco.  Have attended 37 consecutive annual meetings.  Plan to be back at the office, June 3rd.

Hi Dr. Reed:

quests: I have tried oral meds, intraurethral pellets, and intracavernous injections (as advertised by national urologist chain). all eventually failed. Is a prosthesis the remaining solution.

Good morning Michael,
Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Sometimes, a less than optimal injection technique can be modified to  produce a good result, or the result can be augmented with a constriction band.  Also we should consider a vacuum erection device.  Please call the office and make an appointment.  These choices can be reviewed  and shown in detail

Patient satisfaction for a penile implant runs about 90% as does partner satisfaction (national averages).   Not too shabby.    A newer technique permits a somewhat longer erection than otherwise, if you should choose an implant.

Have a restful weekend,

Very loose previous circumcision, smarter now

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Dr. Reed, I would like your services for circumcision. Due to travel, it would be wonderful if this could be done on June 4 or June 7,8, or 9. I am 33 years old and have been previously circumcised, but very loosely so that I appear to be completely uncircumcised except for a scar far back on my penis. I would like this scar line to be part of the skin removed in the new cutting to avoid having two scars. I would like the frenulum to be totally excavated and the result to remove as much of the inner skin as possible. I want the glans to be totally exposed at all times with no skin bunching behind, but I also want to have a full erection with no discomfort.  Lenny

Good morning Lenny,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  Eveything you request sounds reasonable and can be done.   One of those days should certainly be available.  Please call Anne to make an appointment.  If you need to speak with me directly for any reason, I can be reached at 828-891-1xxx (on retreat in the Carolinas).

We have performed over 6000 cosmetic circumcisions in the past 35 years and usually do several cases every week.

Be assured we will show you every courtesy,

With kindest regards,

AlloDerm for girth enhancement, few questions

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Hi Dr,. Reed,

I am interested in your Alloderm girth enhancement procedure.  I currently reside in Atlanta, GA. If decided to have this procedure done, I would fly in.

I have a few questions:

- What are the payment options? Are there any specials right now?

- Where are the incisions made for this procedure? Under the head of the penis? At the base?

- What is the recovery time for this procedure? How long before intercourse?

- I read patients who undergo this procedure must stay 4 days, is this still standard procedure? Why 4 days?

- Do you perform this procedure on weekends?

- What tasks do out of town patients usually perform before coming into town for this procedure?

Thanks in advance for answering my many questions!

Sergio

Good morning Sergio,
Thank you for your interest in what we do.

Taking your thoughtful questions in the order posed…

What are the payment options?

You have to be prepaid before surgery.   Yes, we accept pre-payments
and many a patient has done that a 1000 dollars at a time.

Are there any specials right now?

No.

Where are the incisions made for this procedure?
Under the head of the penis? At the base?

Yes there is a 9 to 3 o’clock incision in the coronal sulcus,
the groove in back of the head of the penis and a vertical incision
about 1/2 to 3/4 on an inch long at the peno-pubic junction.  Both incisions
are closed very cosmetically and usually heal quite neatly
and fairly inconspicuously.

What is the recovery time for this procedure?

You need to be on strict bed rest for 4 days at the Baltic Hotel
following procedure, and keep a wrap on for 7 to 8 days.

How long before intercourse?

About 8 weeks,.

I read patients who undergo this procedure must stay 4 days, is this still standard procedure?

Absolutely.  A.  To prevent shifting and sliding of the dermal-matrix product,
and to minimize post-operative swelling and bruising.

Why 4 days?

Usually maxes out by that time.  I have to see you at the Hotel everyday.

Do you perform this procedure on weekends?

No.

What tasks do out of town patients usually perform before coming into town for this procedure?

Please initiate an over the phone consultation.  Our fee is 250 and is a one time consultation charge.

All the best and have a restful weekend,

Had circ, skin bunches on underside

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Hi Dr. Reed -

I am interested in the possibility of having some excess skin removed that bunches on the underside of the penis. This wouldn’t be a circumcision, as I am already circumcised, but more of a ‘penis lift’, I guess, for lack of a better term.  I’m concerned about preserving a particular area of sensitivity on the underside, however, so I’m just curious about what my options, if any, might be for something like this.

My guess is that a consultation may be in order.  I am in New York, however, and I’m wondering how you go about scheduling consultations for out-of-towners.  Do you request photos first to get a sense of things? If you are able to determine if things can move forward, are consultations and procedures usually scheduled within close proximity, or are subsequent visits are usually made? In this case, though, I suppose it’s best to see first what can be done with my particular situation.

Thank you in advance for your time.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Clinton

Good afternoon Clinton,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  If you will, E-mail me several well focused photos of yourself.  Bunching of skin on the underside may relate to the fact the doctor did not do any even approximation all the way around, which could have been accomplished (usually) if he bisected his suture approach (6 o’clock followed by 12 o’clock followed by 3 and then 9 and so on.   However, we can correct this now.  You may have a longitudinal incsion on the underside, but this should heal fairly neatly.

Best wishes,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.

Phimosis patient wants to know how to prepare for circumcsion

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

i cant retract my foreskin at all because my opening is so small, and i am planning on getting circumcised.will i need to do anything special prior to the operation and will that cause any complications or any difficulties during or after the procedure?

Jason

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.  To answer your question, do not manipulate your foreskin or traumatize it for a few days before surgery.  Better for me to see what is actually phimotic (or contracrted) as that has to go.  Most probably you will not have a high circucmsion , could be moderate to low, but if I leave any scar tissue behind you’ll have big time swelling of ther distal shaft once that ring of scar tissue is re-sited above your head.

We have performed over 6000 cosmetic circumcisions in the past 35 years and usually do several cases every week.

We do ask that you stay for one, ideally 2 days at the Baltic Hotel (advanced tourist class) and I will see you there daily.

You could return to an office environment 3 days after circumcision.   Our 2 layered wrap of soft conforming gauze and Coban will provide comfort and reduce swelling.

We have done sons of physicians, medical students and residents, brothers, religious circumcisions, men who have not seen the heads of their penis for 20 years.   This is your circumcision and we do it the way you want with respect to 4 parameters.

Please don’t be like the patient who writes: “Dr. Reed I just got circumcised  two days ago and my result was not what i expected.   I was wondering when i recover can i get a consultation with you.”   Photos sent
and received (unspoken comment “disaster zone”)

Be assured we will show you every courtesy,

With kindest regards,

Harold M. Reed, M.D.
