Will my sensitivity be maintained after circumcision?
Hi im 23 going to 24 i’ve been considering getting circumsized by you since i heard your very good at them. Thing is i dont know what to expect once its cut. what going to get more sensitive and whats not? im just afraid i might lose sensitivity. Sai.
Good morning friend Sai,
A circumcision is about removing skin only. Reports of loss of sensitivity are probably related to a doctor cutting at the wrong tissue plane and is extremely rare. Be assured having done over 5000 circumcisions, I do not believe one patient has complained of loss of sensitivity.
Studies have been done with large cohorts (number of subjects) such as the Kaiser Permanente study involving thousands of men, and bottom line… no loss or gain of sensitivity on average. Yes, there were some outliers (patients above and below the mean) but on average mean ejaculatory time, a sign of sensitivity remains the same. And biothesiometry studies, a nerve conduction test designed to measure barely perceivable vibrations (fine touch) shows no statitstical difference between the groups.
Most will have heightened sensitivity immediately after circumcision and this subsides to normal in a few weeks. Then, it’s business as usual, and you can put in your regards for me anytime.
