When your first circ didn’t heal well and you have diabetes
Dr. Reed, One little dot on my frenulum is still red, should this be of concern? I had a revision by you of another doctor’s circumcision because the incision line was somewhat raised and hard? My Dad and his brother both died in their forties and had diabetes. I do not, but you did discover an elevated blood sugar in my urine and my blood when I was in Miami to see you. Steve

Good afternoon Steve,
You are in the formative stage of wound healing. This is all about cosmetics and I recommended you see an internist or endocrinologist immediately after your return home.
Your blood sugars are running way too high. You cannot isolate one system, the genito-urinary from the rest of the body and just treat that and expect everything to be fine. Diabetics have vascular disease and poor blood flow equals poor wound healing and scarring.
No excuses, you need to be in a doctors office this Tuesday morning.
If someone is too busy go on to the next.
Your family history on your father’s side is well known to you.
The rest is up to you.
Harold M. Reed, M.D.
(a footnote… diabetics in general heal just as well as other patients, but their diabetes has to be in good control)

diabetes is of course a nasty disease and it could be avoided by just having good exercise ::
