Status recent adult circumcision by another urologist

Dear Dr. Reed,

I am writing to you because you are highly praised among adult circumcision advocates, a group of people I have recently become acquainted with after having an adult circumcision performed about a month ago. I didn’t know all then that I have come to know now, which is unfortunate because I went to a local doctor that was recommended and it is proving to have been a poor choice. He was comfortable hearing my concerns and overall desires regarding the result… but when it came to the procedure itself he seemed to have done his thing. He removed much more inner foreskin than I wanted, leaving me about 1/2 inch, also he seemingly removed more skin on the left side than right. He removed my frenulum but there seems to be some sag in that area now. The area is still healing, so I know that I haven’t seen the final result quite yet (the healing process has been difficult too and there is a “gap”, more like an overlap really, of skin that still bleeds a little bit, even still). What I can be certain of, even at this stage in healing, is that he did not remove enough skin (like i had asked), there is still plenty of play on the shaft.  My questions for you are: How long after this circumcision should I wait before having it redone? I am very concerned about losing more of my sensitive inner foreskin… is it possible to go over his cut line? If not, how much more would i expect to lose? I would love to hear your opinion and what you might be able to do for me.

I wish I had been more educated about my options before picking a local doctor.

Most Sincerely,
   Bob
